Eraser tool

ERASER TOOL

As the name implies, the Eraser tool allows you to erase any part of a document you want. Of all the tools available in Photoshop, the eraser is the most insightful. It can be found on your control panel, and is located to the left of the pencil tool. To see how it works, click your pencil tool and use it to scribble marks on the canvas. Once you've done this, click on the eraser tool. After you've clicked on it, hold down the button on your mouse and drag it over the marks.

As you can see, the marks will be erased. Like many other tools available in Photoshop, the eraser has a large number of options. By changing these options, you can alter the behavior of this tool. The options for changing this tool can be found under the Options menu. The first option I want you to experiment with is the different eraser types. It allows you to pick air brush, block, pencil, or paint brush. Each of these options will allow the eraser to function in a different way. Picking the block option will cause the tool to erase in a rectangular like manner.

This option is excellent when you want to make erase specific elements in an image without disturbing the nearby area. The airbrush option will allow the tool to erase with soft edges. At whatever location you stop erasing, the airbrush option will leave the shape of a bulb. The paintbrush option is similar to the airbrush. It allows you to erase with soft edges, but does not leave a bulb when you click off the canvas. It is also possible to change the opacity of the eraser tool.

Being able to alter the opacity settings will allow you to control how much is erased when you click and drag on the canvas. The erase image button will allow you to completely remove an image from the canvas.  While the primary purpose of the erase tool is to erase things, it can also be used to make unique designs. You could create a smudge or blur effect by changing the opacity settings. It isn't commonly used for this, because blur is a tool which is already available. Despite this, the eraser may take a bit of time to get used to. A common problem those new at Photoshop have is erasing more than they intend to. To solve this problem, you want to make sure the settings for the eraser are correct.

The eraser is a simple tool that those new to Photoshop may use a lot. It could be argued that it is one of the most important tools. Being able to correct your errors is very important. If you make a mistake, using the undo feature under edit is also a good way to correct errors. In addition to erasing things, the eraser tool can also be used to enhance the look of your image. For example, if you want to add soft edges to an image, combining the airbrush option with reduced opacity may be a good way to achieve this.
